    Play Equipment

Where can I view the play equipment?

Play equipment Neerkant has a showroom at Schansweg 11 in Neerkant. Due to our large assortment, it is unfortunately not possible to assemble every model in the showroom. However, we have designed the showroom in such a way that, based on the available models, a good representation can be made of all the variants shown on our website.

What type of wood is the play equipment made of?

The type of wood used is pressure and vacuum impregnated European pine (Pinus sylvestris). The wood comes exclusively from responsibly managed European forests and is all FSC and/or PEFC certified.

    Does the equipment require maintenance?

All wooden parts of the play equipment are pressure-treated. This means they are weather-resistant. Additional treatments are generally not necessary. It is important, however, to protect the wood against rising moisture, see "what type of ground is suitable for the play equipment?".
Over time, the wood will turn gray due to weathering. If this is not desired, it is possible to stain or paint the wood in a certain color. However, keep in mind that the wood must be able to 'breathe', moisture must be able to enter and exit.
In damp and shady areas, the growth of algae and moss is possible. It is advised to combat this with a vinegar solution.

How do I order a play equipment?

A play equipment can be ordered in the webshop, by phone during office hours, by email, or during a visit to the showroom.

    Preparation

What type of ground is suitable for the play equipment?

Although all wooden parts are pressure-treated, the wood remains sensitive to (excessive) moisture. We therefore advise a stony substrate. If the play equipment is to be placed on the lawn (or other moist substrate), we recommend creating a platform of concrete tiles the size of the play equipment. A number of tiles under the bearing points of the play equipment may also be sufficient. Make sure the substrate is level!

What tools do I need to assemble a play equipment?

    For assembly, you only need;

    • An electric screwdriver (preferably an impact driver)
    • Hammer
    • Bit holder + bit torx T20 - T40 (bits are included)
    • Tape measure.
How much space do I need for placing a swing?

For the swing's 'swing', there must be at least 2.5 meters of space free in front of and behind the swing beam.

How do I get the package to the back of my garden?

All parts of the package fit through a standard door. The large panels are 3.30m long and can be easily lifted through a walk-in door by 2 people.

    Transport

What type of trailer do I need?

    We recommend dimensions of at least 1.20 x 2.40 (w x l).

Can I also pick up the play equipment with a van?

Yes, you can. For play equipment 120, the loading space must be at least 3.00m deep. For all other equipment, the length of the loading space must be at least 3.40m deep.

Can my order also be delivered?

    Yes, that is possible.

The play equipment is delivered in large prefabricated panels. The advantage of this is quick and clear assembly, but the disadvantage is the package size and the associated transport costs.

The costs for delivery can be calculated using an online tool.

When the play equipment is delivered, someone must be present to unload the large panels.

    Do you also deliver abroad?

    Yes, that is possible.

The shipping costs for the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany can be easily calculated using the online tool.

In the past, play equipment has also been shipped to Dubai, Suriname, France, Ibiza, Russia, Austria, etc. Feel free to ask us about the possibilities!

    Assembly

How will the play equipment be delivered?

All play equipment is manufactured in our own workshop in Neerkant (NL). This allows us to prefabricate the play equipment as much as possible. However, since it also needs to be transportable, we limit this to panels. In addition to these panels, we cut all associated parts to size and pre-drill construction beams. We provide all necessary fasteners and include a clear assembly manual, which guides you step by step through the assembly process.

Is there a clear assembly manual provided?

All standard play equipment comes with a clear assembly manual. Extra parts such as extension swings, climbing walls, etc. also come with a suitable assembly manual.

How many people do I need for assembly?

When installing the play equipment yourself, you need to have at least 2 people present. If you opt for assembly by one of our installers, at least 1 person needs to be present to assist them.

Does the equipment need to be anchored?

Under normal circumstances, additional anchoring is not immediately necessary. However, in windy areas, it may be advisable to anchor the play equipment to the ground.

    Wood is Nature..

Wood is a natural material with excellent properties. It is sturdy yet elastic.

Softwood has an open structure. This means it swells or expands when it absorbs moisture and shrinks when it releases moisture. This characteristic gives wood its unique properties!

The main characteristics of wood are:

    1. Cracks, deformations, or warping

Cracks can occur as the wood dries. These drying cracks are natural features and do not affect the durability of the wood.

During drying, wood tends to deform. Uneven drying is often the cause of twisting or warping of the wood.

Especially in warm weather conditions, wood exposed to sunlight may shrink too quickly, resulting in changes in shape. Also, during extremely wet weather, wood materials can sometimes warp because they are moist on the top and dry on the bottom.

Our pressure-treated softwood is reasonably flexible. A slightly warped beam or plank can easily be straightened during assembly by hand or with a clamp, for example.

    2. Knots and growth rings

Wood is a natural product. Depending on the species and age, wood has its own characteristic features. Knots, knots, and growth rings are part of these characteristics.

TIP: If a knot has come loose from the wood, you can easily reattach it with a little wood glue.

    3. Rough surface

Our wood products are sawn (and often planed). Inaccuracies and roughness may occur in areas where the wood fibers surround the knots. If desired, these areas can be lightly sanded.

TIP: Our employees sort wood for quality. However, if there is still a large knot, slight curvature, or rough surface on the wood, try to use it on the non-visible side.

    4. Green stains / Impregnation stains

Pressure-treated garden wood is impregnated under high pressure. The green (and sometimes white) stains occur when the impregnating agent reacts with the resin present in the wood.

Over time, these stains will disappear under the influence of sunlight (UV radiation).

    5. Mold (white/black)

Mold stains may appear on the wood, often visible as white or black spots. Mold can develop in areas with relatively poor ventilation, such as inside a playhouse, the underside of a sandbox lid, or the underside of a roof.

These superficial mold spots do not affect the quality of the wood.

The likelihood of encountering mold is higher in autumn and winter. Due to weather conditions and UV light, these stains often disappear in spring and summer.

Mold spots can be easily removed with a cleaning solution or vinegar solution.

    6. Discoloration

Wood can discolor due to exposure to sunlight (UV) and impregnation.

After the wood is impregnated, it will acquire a darker color. Sapwood will discolor differently from heartwood. The wood packs are impregnated as a whole, so the slats between the planks will be visible after impregnation. Exposure to UV radiation will gradually fade these color differences.

TIP: Try to process your material immediately after purchase. If this is not possible, store the wood in a dry and shady area. Exposure to direct sunlight can cause your wood to warp and twist more quickly.
